Elisabeth Gutjahr
Rector of the Mozarteum Salzburg University since 2018. At the age of 26, she was nominated professor at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Trossingen, of which she has been rector since 2006. Since 2015, she has been Vice President of the Music Education Committee of the German Music Council and a member of the advisory board of Musikfreunde Donaueschingen. Since 2021, she has been Vice President of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen (AEC). She has organised competitions and festivals focusing on contemporary music and has worked as a musical dramatist, choreographer and director. Her artistic and experimental research interest is focused on the interdisciplinary working space between score and performance, between book and stage.
She has been writing librettos for operas and musical texts since 1989. He has written librettos for operas by Franz Hummel Gesualdo, Beuys and Styx; for the opera Sonnenfinsternis by József Sári; for the chamber operas An der Schönen Blaue Donau (‘Best Opera of the Year 1994’, Opernwelt magazine) and Swin swin by Tobias Schneid.
She produced together with Henry Fourès, the bilingual musical radio play Correspondance for the Musica Viva Festival in Strasbourg in 2015, and wrote the libretto for the opera Elissa, presented at the Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy 2023. His publications include Der Mythos Kreativität (The Myth of Creativity) Wissenschaft und Bildung 1996.

Dal 2015 è vicepresidente del comitato per l’educazione musicale del Consiglio musicale tedesco e membro del comitato consultivo di Musikfreunde Donaueschingen. Dal 2021 è Vice Presidente dell’Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen (AEC). Ha organizzato concorsi e festival incentrati sulla musica contemporanea e ha lavorato come drammaturga musicale, coreografa e regista. Il suo interesse di ricerca e sperimentazione artistica si concentra sullo spazio di lavoro interdisciplinare tra partitura ed esecuzione, tra libro e scena.
Scrive libretti per opere e testi musicali dal 1989. Ha scritto i libretti per le opere di Franz Hummel Gesualdo, Beuys e Styx; per l’opera Sonnenfinsternis di József Sári; per le opere da camera An der Schönen Blaue Donau (“Migliore opera dell’anno 1994”, rivista Opernwelt) e Swin swin di Tobias Schneid.
Insieme al compositore Henry Fourès ha prodotto nel 2015 lo spettacolo radiofonico musicale bilingue Correspondance per il Festival Musica Viva di Strasburgo, e ha scritto il libretto per l’opera Elissa, presentata al Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy 2023.
