FRANCESCO FONTANELLI

Laureato in musicologia all’Università di Pavia, dove nel 2019 ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca con uno studio sulla genesi del Quartetto op. 127 di Beethoven. I suoi interessi si rivolgono all’analisi di forme e tecniche compositive tra Ottocento e Novecento, con particolare riguardo alle implicazioni sul piano dell’estetica e della storia culturale. La sua tesi di laurea su Alfredo Casella è stata selezionata per la pubblicazione dalla De Sono, e nel 2016 il volume ha vinto il premio “Arthur Rubinstein. Una vita per la musica giovani”.

Graduated in musicology at the University of Pavia, he later obtained a PhD in 2019 at the same university, with a dissertation on the genesis of Beethoven’s String Quartet, op. 127. His interests focus on the study of forms and compositional techniques between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with special attention to the implications in the field of aesthetics and cultural history. His Master’s thesis about Alfredo Casella’s modernistic production was published by the De Sono Association; the volume won the “Arthur Rubinstein” Award 2016 for the category dedicated to young musicologists.
